State Secretary Writes

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”. (Col 3:17)

As we approach the last month of the year 2010 let us recall all the events through which the Lord has blessed us, and thank Him for His greatest gift – His son Jesus Christ. Christmas always has a fragrance of celebration in the air. It is a season of giving and sharing the love of Christ to all. The birth of Christ itself speaks this message of the ‘father’s immeasurable love by giving to us His One and only begotten Son’. Christians are called for giving Christ to everyone, not just cakes, cards and carols. Let each one of us give Christ in us, the hope of glory to others, so that they step into the next year with the Lord Jesus Christ, the living hope. May whatever we do this Christmas season, be it in word or deed, be done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the father through Him.

Chandapilla achan was ‘a voice for the youths’. I recall an incident where a group of youngsters were completely neglected; it was at that time Achan stepped in, to give an attentive ear to this group during which he was quoted saying – “Listen, God can even talk through the youngsters”. I am grateful to this man who encouraged me, a member of this group, by giving an opportunity to be heard. God enabled me visit him before his demise.

Campus Sunday (November 21st) had a good response from various churches. Our official letter was read in many churches and they prayed for the colleges and student ministry. Some of the churches gave time for our graduates and staff to present our vision and share from the Word of God. I praise God for the initiatives of our Church Relation Cell.

The half-yearly evaluations were conducted in two zones. The South Zone (from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram) meeting was held at GCI centre, Kottayam, and the North Zone (from Thrissur to Kasargode) was conducted in ESAF centre Mannuthy, Thrissur. Both the zonal meets had good participation and it was a fruitful time of evaluation, prayer and planning.

Let us uphold the evangelistic Christmas programs planned in various ICEUs throughout Kerala. Pray that these occasions be fruitful and many would come to know the Lord.

I would like to remind you to pray for the National Staff Conference in Dimapur, Nagaland from 27th December to 2nd January. Our staff team will start the journey to North East on 19th December.

Bro. Renjith and Anitha, our staff family will be staying in the centre during my absence. Wish you all a blessed and meaningful Christmas!
